Canon G1220 Review

When the market is flooded with All-in-One printers, Canon has released an interesting ‘Single Function’ inkjet printer to market. The latest Canon Pixma G1220 Printer from the well-known brand comes with only printing function. If you don’t need a scanner, copier or fax machine at home, this product could be one to check out. Here is our Canon G1220 Review to explore what this model has got to offer and what is missed out.

The new Canon G1220 single function Supertank inkjet printer comes with decent specification to meet high volume printing needs. The model comes with a Mega ink tank, which the company claims to print 30x more of conventional cartridge sets. One set of MegaTank ink bottles are rated to print up to 6K black / 7.7K color pages. The printer comes with one set of black+color ink bottles and two additional spare black bottles included in box.

Printing speed is comparable with other models in this rage. The device can print 9.1 ipm in black and 5.0 ipm in color. The printer also supports up to 8.5″ x 11″‘ size borderless photos printing. Photo and document print quality are at par with legacy of Canon. The budget-friendly, heavy duty printer didn’t compromise on crisp blacks and vivid colors.

Though the Canon PIXMA G1220 misses other features of an All-in-one device, we don’t think normal day-to-day usage is much impacted. Just recollect how many time you had to send or receive fax in last one year. Occasional document scanning and copying can be managed with a good smartphone. If you use these features often, even once a month, we highly recommend you to go for All-in-one device like HP Envy 6075.

Overall, there is nothing much to boast about Canon Pixma G1220. The single purpose device serves its only purpose well, that is printing with high quality. There are many options in the market today to consider if your need is more than just a printer.
